Plain English, no fine print.
The short version
DeskAudit participates in the Amazon Associates program. When you click a product link on our site and buy something, we may earn a commission — typically a small percentage of the sale price, at no extra cost to you. That commission funds our product purchases and testing. It never affects our picks, rankings, or scores.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
How it works, step by step
- You read a review and click a "Check price" link.
- The link takes you to Amazon (or another retailer) with a tag identifying DeskAudit as the referrer.
- If you buy the product — or anything else during that visit, in most cases — the retailer pays us a commission out of their margin.
- You pay exactly the same price as if you'd gone to the retailer directly.
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't change product prices. Ever.
- It doesn't affect which products we pick, how we rank them, or what we score them. Picks are finalized from test results and evidence before any affiliate link is attached — see our editorial policy.
- It doesn't give us your personal data. We see aggregate clicks and commissions, not who bought what.
Why we're telling you this three times
You'll see a disclosure at the top of every article with affiliate links, a micro-line under every product call-to-action, and this dedicated page. That's deliberate: the moment a reader has to wonder whether a recommendation was bought, the publication is finished. We'd rather over-disclose than leave a shadow of doubt.
The rest of our funding
Right now, affiliate commissions are our only revenue. We don't run display ads on review pages, don't sell sponsored content, and don't take money from brands — those are covered in our editorial policy. If our funding mix ever changes, this page will be updated to describe it.
